Huge XBox/Switch News Out Of France

Updated: Aug 24, 2019

If you're a fan of Xbox and/or Nintendo Switch there is some news out of France that you should be incredibly excited about (in my humble and correct opinion)!

According to France's largest gaming website, Jeuxvideo, Microsoft and Nintendo have been meeting in the Redmond, WA about teaming up. What kind of team up you may ask? Jeuxvideo has confirmed that more than 100 Xbox games will become available on the Switch via GamePass and/or X Cloud starting with Cuphead as well as Ori and the Blind Forest by the end of 2019.

As for rumors, Jeuxvideo believes that the Rare Replay bundle as well as the Halo, Forza, and Gears of War franchises are also on the table to come to Nintendo's latest console offering.

Now may be a good time to head over to our story about swapping out your current Switch for an upgraded version...

UPDATE: Per gamesindustry.biz After announcing Ori is going to the Switch Microsoft has announced it's taking a step back, "We have no plans to further expand our exclusive first-party games to other consoles. We continue to believe deeply in cross play and progression of games with the right flexibility for developers to insure a fair and fun experience."

Per Destructoid

However, that doesn't mean old plans are scrapped. Microsoft addressed the way its Xbox division has been aggressively snatching up studios. "The past year has been an exciting time for us as we have more than doubled the internal creative teams making up Xbox Game Studios. As these new studios transitioned in, we were aware of some existing commitments to other platforms and will honor them. However, going forward these new studios will focus on making games for our platforms."
